
The Mobile Health Unit 
The Mobile Health Unit of the Guyana Conference of Seventh-day Adventists made a spectacular entrance into the Conference compound on 26 June 2008after a long and anticipated arrival .
Directors, office staff and well-wishers all joined in to share this special event. This unit cost approximately US$40,000 and will be operating from village to village doing health education, screening, blood pressure, diabetes, BMI and cholesterol checks across the country.
Pastor Alexander Isaacs, Health and ADRA Director, said “All praises are given to God and those individuals that helped to make this project a success”.
Sister Ester Quashie from the United States of America will be the coordinator of this project. She is returning to Guyana as a self-supporting missionary.
The vehicle was officially commissioned on 14th August, 2008 by the Minister of Health, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy. It took to the road on its inaugural trip on 28th September, 2008. On this occasion, the unit began offering free testing at the Stewartville Community Ground where a Health Fair had been organised by the Adventist church.
